Property index shows strong returns for regeneration

A pilot Urban Regeneration Index by Investment Property Databank has shown that most property types in urban regeneration areas have out-performed the wider UK market. Phil Clarke of Morley Fund Management and the chairman of the Regeneration Index Committee (RIC) said: “The RIC believes that the index shows early involvement by investors in well designed, mixed use brownfield sites can provide good returns.” It also showed that commercial property in urban regeneration areas has been performing in line with the wider UK market since 1995. It is hoped the new index, commissioned by English Partnerships and Morley Fund Management, will be produced annually.
