Private registrations up, public figures decline – NHBC

Private sector registrations have risen modestly whilst public sector figures continue to decline, according to NHBC's latest registration data.<br> <br> For the rolling quarter February to April 2012, registrations to build new private sector homes rose 5% to 20,168 compared to the same period in 2011. Public sector registrations meanwhile fell 49% to 5,867.<br> <br> Removing the registration of around 2,800 London Olympics Village properties – affecting 2011's February to April figures – reveals a 14% rise in private sector registrations for 2012's same period.<br> <br> But even with the exclusion of these properties, public sector registrations still fell considerably, continuing the downward trend seen so far this year.
