PPS3 delayed

<p>Planning policy statement 3 (PPS3) has been delayed until autumn, apparently because of the “overwhelming response” during the consultation process. PPS3 sets out national planning policies for housing, which regional planning bodies and local authorities should take into account in developing regional spatial and local development frameworks.</p> <p>A DCLG spokesperson said: “We had a large response to the consultation and so we are likely to have to wait until parliament comes back to publish PPS3.” Parliament returns from its summer recess on October 10. Head of planning at the HBF, Andrew Whitaker, welcomed the news: “We are happy to continue to talk to them about the key issues of concern in the policy: size, type and affordability,”he said.</p><b> <p>NEXT KEY DATE: PPS3 is now expected to be published in October</p></b>
