The Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents says that ten simple safety measures costing £900 would have a “colossal” payback in terms of accident prevention.“We want architects and developers to think about safety at the planning stage,” said RoSPA’s housing planning officer Ian Gordon. The safety measures include: built-in lockable medicine cupboards; fixing points for stairgates and window restrictors.
