Places for People picks new group ceo

<p>Greg Reed, former ceo of HomeServe UK, is to become Places for People’s new group chief executive.</p> <p>Taking up his post on December 1, Reed succeeds David Cowans, who will retire from the affordable homes-led placemaker on March 31 2022 after 24 years of fronting the business. </p> <p>Reed joined home assistance provider HomeServe after more than 20 years in international banking. He was its UK ceo from 2017 to 2020, being a key member of the new executive team that turned it into a “people-first, customer-led and purpose-driven commercial powerhouse”. Last year, Glassdoor named Reed one of the top five highest rated UK chief executives during the pandemic.</p> <p>In 2017 - reflecting his passions for addressing the UK’s housing crisis and encouraging social mobility through vocational education – Reed became a non-executive director of Clarion Housing Group and chair of Clarion Futures, Clarion Housing Group’s charitable foundation.
