Persimmon to develop Bournville extension phase one

Persimmon has beaten a number of other national housebuilders in being chosen by English Partnerships (EP) and the Bournville Village Trust to develop the first tranche 800 new homes planned as an extension to Bournville, Cadbury's model village in south west Telford. The Lightmoor Village mixed use community will be built out over the coming years, including 25% affordable homes. Persimmon's first 40 homes will serve as a showcase for the development, and will meet EcoHomes "Excellent" standard. "Persimmon won the competitive tender against strong competition from at least ten other housebuilders," said EP's local area director, Peter Murray. "They were appointed for their vision and understanding of our commitment to high sustainability standards and we are delighted to have them on board."
