Persimmon and Redrow set to reopen sales offices

<p><span>Persimmon will reopen its sales offices and show homes in England tomorrow (May 15), with Redrow following suit next week.</span><span></span></p> <p><span>After the government’s update to its coronavirus regulations earlier this week, the housebuilders join Taylor Wimpey in reopening their physical sales operations. Persimmon said it would practice “strict new social distancing” within its sales offices and show homes, introducing additional hygiene measures all “fully compliant” with the latest government guidance. Initially, all consultations must be pre-booked.</span><span></span></p> <p><span>The volume housebuilder said that during the closure of its centres, its sales team had continued to work “effectively and efficiently” online, offering virtual viewings and a digitalised reservation process.</span><span></span></p> <p><span>Persimmon began its phased return to site work in England and Wales on April 27, with the business reaching around 65% of its production capacity during the week beginning May 4.</span><span></span></p> <p><span>During the eight weeks to May 10, the company achieved </span><span>1,351 gross private sales reservations and 1,300 legal completions.</span><span></span></p> <p><span>Redrow will reopen its sales operations on May 18 with viewings and meetings also by appointment only.</span><span></span></p> <p><span>The business gave some detail of the measures it would undertake to ensure consultant and customer safety. </span><span>Customers will be encouraged through signage to remain in their …
