Part exchange and project management under one roof

When part exchange company ARC Property Group's offer to purchase a detached bungalow in Leatherhead was accepted, everything looked to be going smoothly for the owners until the survey uncovered a serious problem with the property's roof. The vendor was an avid model train enthusiast who had built a large model railway in the roof space 25 years before and in doing so had unwittingly cut away several extremely important web trusses from the original roof.<br> <br> As a result, the roof structure had been severely weakened to the extent that the property was not mortgageable until the problem was rectified. The elderly owners had agreed a deal to move into their new apartment in a retirement village by a certain date, but due to poor health they were unable to take on the task of organising the works themselves. <br> <br> ARC Property Group stepped in to project manage the whole process on the owners' behalf, from arranging quotations, instructing contractors and structural engineers to oversee the work, and organising a visit from the local building control officer to sign off the work.<br> <br> www.arcpropertygroup.co.uk
