The first £1 million in funding for local communities to improve open spaces has been announced by Regeneration Minister Yvette Cooper under the ODPM’s Living Spaces programme. A total of £30 million has been earmarked through the Communities Plan for improving local play areas, gardens, parks and other open spaces.
