Nine out of ten youngpeople want to own a home

89% of 18–34 year olds who do not already own a property wish that they did, according to a new survey from the property website new-homes which was relaunched in September. 74% of people think it is harder to buy a home now than five years ago, while 57% of 25–34 year olds who plan to buy a property are frustrated by the market, according to the YouGov poll.<br> <br> <br> The survey also found that 83% of people see home ownership as a sensible long term investment, the fourth year in a row that the survey has shown that the vast majority of Britons still want to invest in homes.<br> <br> <br> David Bryant, chair of the New Homes Marketing Board which runs the new-homes portal in a joint venture with Smart New Homes, said: "These figures show that although young people want to own their own homes, it is becoming much more difficult.
