The new chair of the New Homes Quality Board, Rob Brighouse, will address this year’s Housing Market Intelligence conference which takes place on October 6 at Savoy Place in London.
October will see the first builders going live with the NHQB’s New Homes Quality Code and the official launch of the New Homes Ombudsman Service, so Brighouse’s presentation will be timely.
He joins a strong speaker line up for the conference including Lord Gavin Barwell – who was prime minister Theresa May’s chief of staff from June 2017 to July 2019 – and who will discuss the challenges and opportunities for the industry and what to expect from the new look government. Lord Barwell was also housing minister for a year before becoming chief of staff.
HBF executive chairman Stewart Baseley will provide the HMI audience with a strategic overview of the industry’s challenges and HBF planning director Sam Stafford will assess the planning landscape. McCarthy Stone ceo John Tonkiss will look at innovation in the retirement space, while Barratt group sustainability director Bukky Bird will discuss the green agenda.
