NHBC launches Technology Assisted Inspection app

<p>NHBC has launched its new Technology Assisted Inspection app following a successful pilot in 2020.</p> <p><span>With the app, site managers can upload photographs for online inspection or re-inspection by the NHBC team. These “live” construction images, the organisation explained, would allow NHBC to work with site managers more efficiently as its building inspectors would not need to physically revisit sites; instead, work could continue with sites after NHBC’s digital review and feedback. The app would also create a “useful audit trail”.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>From this month, NHBC will provide onsite training to site management teams using the app as well as regular key stage inspections.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>NHBC said that during the pilot, 91% of site managers rated the app as easy to use.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>Diane Marshall, NHBC’s operations director said: “The launch of the new Technology Assisted Inspection app is a milestone moment in construction quality management as it represents the first stage in the evolution of our technical risk management strategy.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>“We are working with our registered builders and developers to gradually move our collective focus from quality control (defects correction) to quality assurance (defects prevention).</span></p><p></p> <p><span>“Following a successful pilot in 2020, the new app will enable our registered builders and developers to …
