NHBC launches new customer satisfaction survey

NHBC has launched a new research project to assess the level of customer satisfaction among new home buyers. Questionnaires will be sent to more than 100,000 new home buyers on a continuous rolling basis nine to 12 months after they move in. The survey will initially focus on private home buyers who purchase an NHBC registered property from major housebuilders in England, Scotland and Wales. The findings will be given to individual builders at operation level. Details of the performance of specific builders will remain confidential and there will be no league table of developers. But the overall results will be published to provide a view of the industry's performance and the data collected will be used to identify general trends across the new housebuilding industry. NHBC chief executive Imtiaz Farookhi said: “This research aims to give builders tangible management information to encourage them to introduce change where necessary. However, it will also be used to highlight best practice throughout the industry and to give feedback through our builder reports to ensure consumers reap the benefits."
