NHBC has opened its fourth Training Hub, with the facility launching in Bransholme, Hull, today (October 12).
The NHBC Apprenticeship Training Hub in Wawne Road has launched in partnership with EN:Able Futures, a flexi-job apprenticeship provider and part of Efficiency North Holdings. The facility, initially focusing on bricklaying, will train 50 apprenticeships throughout the year to qualify in “as little as” 18 months, NHBC, the new homes warranty and insurance provider, said.
As with the three other existing hubs, the facility is equipped with classrooms, welfare and catering facilities to give apprentices a realistic working environment, with the aim to produce the next generation of skilled housebuilders in the North of England.
NHBC’s other hubs are in Tamworth, Newcastle and Cambridge. NHBC said the new addition strengthened its core purpose of “raising housebuilding standards by championing high quality homes”.
The organisation became a registered apprenticeship provider in 2020. Since then, around 400 people have passed through NHBC’s bricklaying and site supervisor programmes. These have been designed in consultation with the industry “to make sure they meet the needs of employers and employees alike”.
