Steve Wood, chief executive of the NHBC, is to step down from his post later this year, after eight years as its boss.
The new homes warranty and insurance provider said that Wood had shown “transformative” leadership, with the organisation undergoing a period of “significant change” to emerge stronger and more resilient.
Wood, NHBC said, had helped it advance its aim “to support builders, home owners, and other stakeholders, while enhancing its reputation in the housing sector”.
NHBC has begun the process of appointing a successor “who will lead NHBC into its next chapter of growth and innovation”.
It said Wood remained committed to ensuring continuity and supporting the transition process, “while maintaining NHBC’s focus on delivering for its customers, home owners, and all other stakeholders”.
Wood said: “It has been a real privilege to serve as ceo of NHBC, working alongside such a passionate and talented group of colleagues. Together, we have navigated challenges, embraced change, and achieved remarkable progress. I am deeply proud of what we have accomplished and grateful for the unwavering dedication of the entire NHBC team.”
