NHBC has announced the appointment of Steve Wood as its new chief executive.
Wood, who takes up his role today (June 30 2017), has more than 30 years’ experience within the insurance industry. Before joining NHBC, Wood was ceo of Paymentshield, a subsidiary of Towergate Insurance, where he grew and developed the business as the UK’s number one distributor of general insurance products to the mortgage intermediary market. Prior to that he was UK managing director at Ecclesiastical Insurance Group, where he spent eight years strengthening its core market positions and broker relationships.
NHBC chairman, Isabel Hudson, said: “We are delighted to have appointed Steve as NHBC’s new chief executive. As the UK’s leading new home warranty insurance provider, NHBC has a strong history of working with the housebuilding industry to help improve the construction of new homes and providing warranty insurance cover for new home buyers. Steve brings considerable experience of consumer markets, distribution channels and stakeholder management, all of which will assist in leading the commercial development of NHBC and setting the business on the right tracks for the future.”
