<b>Part A amended</b><p></p><p>Proposed amendments of Building Regulations Part A (structure) could significantly affect the requirements for buildings four-storeys and higher. The amendments, which have been published by the government and can be viewed on www.safety.dtlr.gov.uk/bregs/consult/parta/index.htm, also include a proposed requirement to use stainless steel wall ties. Responses are required by November 30.</p><p><b>Part L details</b></p><p> The long awaited Robust Standard Details draft for Part L (thermal insulation) have been posted on BRE's website - projects.bre.co.uk/robustdetails</p><p><b>Planning guide</b></p><p> A new guide has been published to help all parties to the housing and planning process contend with the constraints and tensions in the process. </p><p>Working together: a guide for planners and housing providers has been published by the Royal Town Planning Institute and looks at the viewpoints of the different groups.
