Major planning applications within Milton Keynes' growth areas are to be detemined by a new planning body, the Milton Keynes Partnership Committee, which began operating this week. The committee is chaired by former British Rail chairman Sir Bob Reid and comprises members of Milton Keynes Council, English Partnerships and other local partners. Isobel Wilson, Leader of Milton Keynes Council said: "We are delighted these appointments will provide the strong local voice needed on the Milton Keynes Partnership Committee. It will have an important role in helping government, English Partnerships and local partners deliver the local infrastructure and services required for the new city, in addition to delivering new homes."
