Taylor Wimpey senior independent director Robert Noel is to take over as chair of the TW board next April after the firm said Irene Dorner will be stepping down from the role for personal family reasons. She will stay on the board as a non executive director. The handover will take place at the conclusion of the 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday April 27 next year.
Noel’s appointment, says TW, follows a thorough search process which considered both internal and external candidates. Noel joined the board as an independent non executive director in October 2019 and subsequently became the senior independent director in April 2020. He has more than 30 years' experience in the property sector, including eight years as the ceo of Land Securities Group. He is also chair of Hammerson.
