Mumford & Wood gets ahead of 2013 energy and carbon reduction targets

Timber window and door manufacturer Mumford &amp; Wood can claim total compliance with the new Part L Building Regulations in the energy and carbon reduction improvement targets in both new build and replacement installation. This achievement applies across the entire Mumford &amp; Wood Conservation product range.<br> <br> The new Part L Building Regulations affecting replacement windows and doors came into effect on October 1 2010 and will have a significant impact on the fenestration industry. For replacement windows the requirements for Window Energy Ratings (WER) have been tightened to achieve an energy rating of at least band C, from the current E rating, which equates to a combined U-value of 1.6. <br> <br> “Even our standard Conservation Eco casement has an energy rating of B, with an overall frame U-value of 1.4 which is ahead of current requirements and already satisfies the targets set for 2013,” says Simon Howard, md of Mumford &amp; Wood, “while our Eco spec A rating casements and sashes already satisfy the 2016 targets so we are pleased to be ahead of the game.”<br> <br>
