McStone appoints new chief operating officer

<p><span>Retirement giant McCarthy Stone has appointed Shane Paull as its new chief operating officer.</span></p> <p><span>Paull joined McStone in 2000, swiftly progressing through the business. He became the Southern division’s land director in 2006, then divisional md for Southern in 2012. He has held this position for the past 11 years, directing the development of more than 100 retirement communities during his time in the role.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>Beginning his new post on April 3, Paull will now oversee McStone’s strategic development functions, including land, planning, build, construction, health and safety and group sales and marketing.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>He will also be responsible for the company’s multi tenure strategy – it launched its rental product in 2019 – and delivering its modern methods of construction (MMC) strategy. McStone has committed to building 50% of its future schemes in full with MMC.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>Paull will report to ceo John Tonkiss, remaining as a member of McStone’s executive committee and supporting the firm’s four divisional managing directors.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>McStone said Paull’s replacement in the Southern division would be confirmed shortly.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>John Tonkiss said: “I am delighted that Shane will become our chief operating officer as he knows our business inside out.
