Major construction players join national green group

Kingspan Potton, UK manufacturer of energy efficient timber-based building systems, and SolarTech, a renewable technology supplier, have both signed up as sponsors of nationwide sustainability initiative, SHIFT.<br> <br> <br> The only initiative to provide a comprehensive environmental benchmark for affordable housing providers, Sustainable Homes Index For Tomorrow (SHIFT) counts the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), WWF, the Mayor of London and UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) among its supporters.<br> <br> <br> Paul Inch, general sales manager of Kingspan Potton, said: "Kingspan Potton has a number of solutions helping to reach the high environmental standards that affordable housing providers require. We are delighted to announce our involvement with SHIFT. Many of our clients are looking to reduce their impacts and we are proud to be associated with the benchmarking group for affordable housing providers."<br> <br> <br> Andrew Eagles, md of Sustainable Homes also welcomed the sponsorships, saying: "We are very pleased to welcome Kingspan Potton and SolarTech to SHIFT.
