Mactaggart & Mickel sees “solid” homes performance

<p>Mactaggart &amp; Mickel's Homes division has achieved a “solid performance”, it said today (November 5), with turnover and home sales increasing during the year ending April 30 2019.</p> <p>The Homes arm of the Scottish group reported turnover of £66.5 million against the £63.2 million of last year. Its homes sales rose from 196 in 2018 to 225. Meanwhile, gross profits remained “steady” at £12.9 million.</p> <p>During its financial year, Mactaggart &amp; Mickel Homes launched schemes including Stewart Gardens in Newton Mearns, the conversion of the B-listed Carrongrove House in Falkirk and St Jude’s Meadow in Oxfordshire.</p> <p>St Jude’s Meadow is part of the housebuilder’s recent expansion into England which has made “excellent progress”, with Childrey Park in East Challow soon to launch, the company said. Two more Oxfordshire sites will launch next year.</p> <p>One of Mactaggart &amp; Mickel’s operational highlights of the year is the appointment of Joanne Casey as md of the new Homes England division, the business said.</p> <p>And through its diversification strategy, “designed to smooth out the peaks and troughs of the construction sector,” the firm also stated that it had expanded its Private Rental Sector (PRS) portfolio in London. </p> <p>With “significant investments” made during the …
