Lucy Frazer leaves housing post

<p>Lucy Frazer is to leave her post as housing minister to become culture secretary as the prime minister undertakes a mini cabinet reshuffle and revamps government departments.</p> <p>Frazer was appointed housing minister in November. This follows a succession of housing ministers seen in 2022 - Christopher Pincher, Stuart Andrew, Marcus Jones and Lee Rowley.</p> <p>Last month, <a href="http://www.house-builder.co.uk/news/frazer-allows-final-extension-h2b-practical-completion-deadline">she announced a final extension to the deadline for practical completions for Help to Buy to March 17.</a> She will now be part of a “refocused” Department for Culture, Media and Sport.</p> <p>Her new appointment comes as prime minister Rishi Sunak restructures the <span>Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy</span> and Department for International Trade into three new departments: the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology and the Department for Business and Trade.<span></span></p> <p><span>Grant Shapps, a former housing secretary, has been appointed energy security and net zero secretary.</span><span></span></p>
