L&Q ceo to step down

<p></p><p></p><p></p><p><span>David Montague, chief executive of L&amp;Q, is to leave his post after 12 years of heading the business and more than 30 years at the organisation. </span></p><p><span>Montague joined L&amp;Q’s finance team in 1988, becoming group director of finance in 2003. He was appointed ceo in February 2008. </span></p><p><span>During his time as boss, Montague had, L&amp;Q said, overseen the organisation’s growth “to become one of the country’s largest developers and providers of social housing,” with the business housing more than 250,000 people in 110,000 homes, and carrying an ambition to build 100,000 new homes. </span></p><p><span>But Montague announced that “it is the right time for a new challenge”. He will depart the business by the end of March, the close of L&amp;Q’s current financial year. </span></p><p><span>Montague said: “It has been a pleasure leading L&amp;Q in such extraordinary times and working with talented, dedicated and values driven people for the past three decades to deliver our social mission.
