London Square sees strongest sales to date

<p><p><p><p><span>London Square has reported its best sales results to date as it marks its tenth anniversary. </span></p><p><span>Revealing its annual results, the developer said it had completed on 559 homes, up from 253 in 2019. Revenues increased to £272.4 million from last year’s £168.3 million, with operating profit also rising to £10.8 million (2019: £6.5 million). </span><br/></p><p><span>Forward sales improved from 2019’s £180 million to £190 million. London Square currently has a land pipeline of 2,353 homes, representing £1.2 billion in gross development value. </span><br/></p><p><span>During the year, London Square Partners secured contracts with Peabody and Clarion and after its year end, One Housing. </span><br/></p><p><span>Mark Pain, London Square’s chairman, commented on the group’s “strong operational performance” despite the year end being impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, and with the threat of the UK leaving the EU without a formal withdrawal agreement. </span><br/></p><p><span>He said: “These achievements were backed by strong cash generation, successfully reducing the net gearing levels, finishing the year in a good liquidity position, with a solid forward sales position, setting the group up well for the next financial year.” </span><br/></p><p><span>Adam Lawrence, London Square’s ceo, commented: “These are our best results since launching in 2010 at the height of the recession.</span><span> </span><span>This …
