Linden aims for "top five housebuilder" slot

<p>Linden Homes, the housebuilding arm of Galliford Try, says it is set to be one of the top five UK housebuilders if the company delivers on its key strategic aims.</p> <p>In a business briefing in London, Linden divisional managing director Paul Cooper said that the firm was "ambitious" in its growth plans and determined to break into the top five. At present the top five - to be revealed this month in Housebuilder magazine and the annual Housing Market Intelligence Report - are Barratt, Taylor Wimpey, Persimmon, Bellway and Berkeley when ranked on turnover, with Galliford Try/Linden sixth. On units built, Linden slips to seventh behind Redrow. It is Redrow and Berkeley that Linden are targetting.</p> <p>In March this year Galliford Try made the decision to bring all its housing divisions - including Stamford, Midas, Rosemullion and Gerald Wood - under the Linden name and now is keen to rapidly grow the new brand.</p>
