L&G Modular Homes boosts pipeline with new site

<p>Legal &amp; General Modular Homes has secured a site in Littlestone, Kent, boosting its pipeline to 750 homes.</p> <p><span>The site, which has outline planning permission for 80 homes, adds to the division’s schemes in Selby, Bristol, Broadstairs and North Horsham. This latest scheme of around nine acres will include three of open space and wetland, “largely dedicated to wildlife”.</span></p><p></p> <p><span> Under its reserved matters planning application, the modular homes arm of the financial services giant is seeking the delivery of 80 affordable homes for shared ownership and social rent, with the business currently in discussions with housing associations.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>It hopes to deliver a scheme of two to four bedroom homes which it said would achieve an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) of “A”.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>The scheme in Victoria Road, Littlestone, is part of L&amp;G Modular Homes’ ambition to deliver 3,000 modular homes a year by 2024. Its homes are being produced from its factory in Sherburn-in-Elmet in Yorkshire, with the business targeting the creation of up to 300 new jobs in the next year across its production and logistics areas.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>L&amp;G stated that modular homes were an “impactful solution” to creating quality, affordable, “carbon friendly” housing.
