L&G Modular Homes begins major scheme

<p>Legal &amp; General Modular Homes has started on site on a major modular homes scheme in Bristol, with plans to take on an extra 350 staff throughout 2021 to deliver on its growing pipeline.</p> <p><span>The new scheme at Bonnington Walk, Lockleaze, in partnership with Bristol City Council, will yield 185 new homes in a mix of houses and apartments. Show homes will be open “as early as” the summer.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>L&amp;G said the homes would achieve an energy performance certificate of A, with the combination of air source heat pumps, photovoltaic cells and high quality build standards bringing “significant energy savings” for residents. Half of the homes will be affordable housing.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>It said the homes could be assembled onsite within eight weeks once the land was prepared. Work is currently underway on onsite clearance with the construction of roads and sewers to follow. The first modules are set to arrive in the summer.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>The financial services giant launched its modular housing arm in 2016, “which has continued to grow”.
