Laing in £450 million Croydon joint venture

John Laing Projects &amp; Developments and Croydon council are in discussions over a £450 million 50:50 joint venture to regenerate a swathe of Croydon town centre. The partnership, due to be signed in October, will see the council invest the land, and JLP&amp;D the equity, with profits shared equally. The partnership will provide for the redevelopment of four town centre sites into schemes providing 660 private and affordable housing units, including a 40 storey tower. The terms of the local asset-backed vehicle model enable the council to contribute further sites for redevelopment, if it wishes, over the next 25 years. <br>
