Kingspan Insulation's Kooltherm and Therma ranges of products have taken a role in Channel 4's Restoration Man series, installed as part of an ambitious project to convert a Grade II listed church into a holiday home.

Old St John's Church in Gamblesby, Cumbria, was constructed in 1868 and had stood empty for eight years before being purchased by husband and wife, Phil Evans and Joanne McGirr.

In order to transform the building into a habitable home, more than 600 m2 of Kingspan Insulation's premium performance Kooltherm products were installed. To insulate the Church's roof, 50 mm thick Kingspan Kooltherm K7 Pitched Roof Boards were fitted over a sarking board, with a further 70 mm installed underneath it. For the wall build-up, 42.5 mm of Kingspan Kooltherm K18 Insulated Plasterboard was installed above the wall cill, with 62.5 mm below it.

To complete the building envelope, a further 122 m2 of Kingspan Insulation's high performance Thermafloor TF70 was then installed on the ground floor. The three bedroomed home is now available for holiday rental.

www.kingspaninsulation.co.uk
