Former Places for People’s Jon Cook has become Allison Homes’ group managing director.
Most recently ceo at People for People developments, Cook will oversee Allison Homes’ operational and commercial activities, including its ambition to double in size over the next three years.
Cook has 40 years’ experience in housebuilding; in two examples he was Crest Nicholson’s managing director and commercial and technical director of Cala Homes. At Allison Homes, he will also manage the firm’s existing regions in the South West, East Midlands and Central/East.
These regions are at the centre of the group’s growth plans, according to the company, with the East Midlands region recently announcing some “key land acquisitions” and the intention to start its first three sites next year. Allison Homes also plans to establish new regions.
Last year, the company completed more than 600 homes, 13% up on the previous year. It also achieved a 34% increase in affordable homes delivery and contributed more than £8 million towards community infrastructure.
In the past year, the business has secured planning consent for almost 1,775 homes. A further 1,976 are currently progressing through the planning system.
