<p><span class="z"><span>John Tutte has been named as Bellway’s next non-executive chairman.</span></span></p> <p><span class="z"><span>Tutte, whose career is characterised by his various senior roles at Redrow, will join Bellway’s board as non-executive chairman designate on March 1. He will succeed Paul Hampden Smith on April 1 when he steps down after almost nine years as a non-executive director and three as chairman.</span></span></p> <p><span class="z"><span>Bellway said Tutte was selected after a “rigorous selection process”, with the incoming chairman bringing more than 40 years of housebuilding experience and extensive leadership skills. His roles at Redrow include group ceo, executive chairman and non-executive chairman. He retired from the business in 2021.</span></span></p> <p><span class="z"><span>Tutte is also a non-executive director of the Home Builders Federation. Until 2020 he was chairman of the HBF’s Home Building Skills Partnership.</span></span></p> <p><span class="x"><span>Denise Jagger, Bellway’s senior independent director, said:</span></span><span> </span><span class="z"><span>"Following a very thorough search and selection process, the board is delighted to appoint someone of John's calibre and sector experience as Bellway's next chairman.
