Taylor Wimpey’s Jennie Daly has received a CBE in the King’s Birthday Honours List.
Daly, chief executive of Taylor Wimpey and a non-executive director of the Home Builders Federation, has been awarded a CBE for services to business and the housing sector. She is the first woman to lead a FTSE 100 housebuilding company in the UK, becoming the housebuilder’s boss in April 2022.
Daly is a strong advocate for women in the industry. She has been recognised for her “exceptional leadership throughout her career”.
Before becoming Taylor Wimpey’s ceo, Daly held the roles of group operations director, UK land director and UK director of planning at the business.
Previously, she held senior roles at Harrow Estates, including managing director. From 2015 to 2022, she was non-executive director of housing association Peabody. Since 2021, she has been a non-executive board member of the New Homes Quality Board.
Daly said: “I have a real passion for housebuilding and the social and economic benefits it brings to communities across the UK, and I am deeply honoured to have been recognised in the King’s Birthday list for services to business and the industry.”
