Install sprinkler systems for design and safety

Housebuilders can achieve impressive designs and cost savings by installing domestic sprinkler systems, says the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service.<br> <br> Sprinkler systems can allow greater design freedoms for those wanting to create flexible living spaces, but they also add an "incredible level of protection to homes," says GMFRS.<br> <br> GMFRS says that road layouts and fire service access becomes less onerous and allows for a more flexible and efficient use of land to fit in more houses. <br> <br> GMFRS' station manager Dave Baxter (pictured) says: "Sprinklers are like having a firefighter on hand in the home 24/7 and that is why we are campaigning for them to be installed because they do so much to keep people safe.<br> <br> "As well as such high levels of safety being a brilliant selling point, they mean homes that have a real wow factor can be created and even save costs in other materials that would be needed to create traditional fire protection."<br> <br> www.manchesterfire.gov.uk
