Inland site sales boom

Inland, which specialises in buying brownfield land and selling on sites with consent, has bucked the market gloom, with reports of strong interest in its consented plots. The firm’s landbank stands at around 1,430 plots, 600 of which have achieved planning consent. In the last three months it has sold – among others – 24 plots in Hatfield, Hertfordshire for £3.6 million and 14 plots for flats in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire for £1.25 million. In the last week of May, it received resolutions to obtain planning permission for more than 200 flats and houses in Middlesex and Surrey. Chief executive Stephen Wicks said: “If you believe what you read, no-one’s selling anything. But there is still a market for land: we’re getting more interest for our land disposals than our appraisals show.” <br>
