Inland agrees Clarion contract

<p><span>Inland Homes has exchanged contracts for the sale of its Merrielands Crescent site in Dagenham, East London, to Clarion Housing Group.</span></p> <p><span>The sale is for a total land and build consideration of £77.7 million, with the land being sold for £14 million payable on completion. Inland’s construction arm, Inland Partnerships, will deliver the homes on behalf of Clarion; this is expected to take three years.</span></p> <p><span>The four-acre site will feature 325 residential units across a number of five to ten storey apartment blocks, alongside 1,514 sqm of commercial space, 178 car parking spaces and associated amenity area.</span></p> <p><span>Inland said that the Merrielands Crescent site, in a major East London regeneration zone, is “already leading to other potential similar opportunities in the area”.</span></p> <p><span>The housebuilder and brownfield specialist is also currently building 135 units in Alperton, West London, for Clarion. It is also working with other strategic partners. “These partnership transactions enable Inland to recognise land profits whilst also securing cash positive construction contracts that provide a balance to open market speculative housebuilding,” the company explained.</span></p> <p><span>Inland added that it now had a “record” forward order book of more than £145 million in its Partnership housing division.
