Ill health forces Baker to step down at GT

<p>Ian Baker has stepped down as Galliford Try group's housebuilding managing director with immediate effect for reasons of sudden ill health. He has also stepped down from the firm's executive board.</p> <p>Baker will remain with the business until November 2013. </p> <p>The firms two divisional managing directors, Greg Locke and Paul Cooper, will report directly to group ceo Greg Fitzgerald who will oversee the housebuilding division while a successor is sought "internally and externally".</p> <p>"It is with great personal sadness that we report that Ian Baker has had to step down from the executive board in the most unfortunate circumstances," said Fitzgerald. "The board and I thank Ian for his contribution across his career with Galliford Try."</p> <p> </p>
