<p><span>Modular housing company ilke Homes has partnered with Orbit to help the affordable housing provider deliver its first homes using modern methods of construction. </span><span></span></p> <p><span><span>ilke will provide Orbit with 25 factory-built affordable homes in Wellesbourne, Warwickshire, with Orbit managing the onsite development of the properties. This is the first project in a wider partnership between the two companies; Orbit said it was increasing its procurement of modular homes following a pilot scheme in March. </span></span><span></span></p> <p><span>The modular housing company will manufacture the homes in its factory in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire. They will then be completed at the Wellesbourne site. Groundworks are expected to start on site in August with the first home delivered on site in October. </span><span></span></p> <p><span>The project also marks ilke Homes’ first scheme in Warwickshire as it increases its presence in the Midlands following recent projects in the region including schemes in Beeston and Arnold in Nottingham. ilke has opened new offices in Birmingham, London and Bristol. </span><span></span></p> <p><span>Matthew Bench, ilke Homes’ executive director of partnerships, said: <span>“Scaling-up the country’s delivery of affordable housing is clearly crucial, but more than anything it is about speed, quality and partnering with forward thinking housebuilders such as Orbit.
