Iko's sustainable offering at Ecobuild

Iko will be launching two new pitched roof products at this years' Ecobuild exhibition (stand S1806). They have been added to Iko's range of sustainable roof engineering concepts, which already includes green roof systems, photovoltaic energy roof systems and heat reflective membranes.<br> <br> Iko Slate is a composite roof tile manufactured from mineral reinforced, 99% recycled and re-engineered materials. The company says that it has the same aesthetic qualities as slate because moulds of quarried slates are used to form the composite tiles. Iko Slate is reportedly around 80% lighter than a traditional slate of the same size which makes transporting the slates to and around site much easier.<br> <br> Ultimo HS breather membrane is able to cope with the demands of today's housebuilding in ways which are not possible with conventional underslating membranes, Iko claims. It is an "intelligent membrane" that can deal with high levels of humidity and is able to absorb and release large amounts of moisture vapour in a measured, effective way, the company says.<br> <br> www.ikogroup.co.uk
