Housebuilders trek the hills for charity

Twenty-two teams from the housebuilding and financial services industries raised more than £60,000 for Habitat for Humanity by competing in the gruelling Hopebuilders Challenge in the Peak District in June. The event, sponsored by Old Mutual and NHBC, required the teams to complete a series of mental and physical challenges throughout the High Peak while trekking along the dramatic Skyline Trek above Edale. <br> <br> In addition to the trekking, the orienteering and the other challenges, the teams had to build their own New minister acts to boost industry Innovation Awards shortlist announced shelter out of materials provided by themselves and sleep in the shelter overnight. The fiercely competitive event was won by Bovis Homes who pipped London Lovell Team A and Hedge Funds for Habitat to the title. The combined Housebuilder/Home Builders Federation team finished a creditable ninth in the competition and raised almost £4,000 for the charity which aims to eliminate poverty housing worldwide. <a href="http://www.habitatforhumanity.org.uk">www.habitatforhumanity.org.uk </a><br>
