Housebuilders continue steady performances

Housebuilders continue to report encouraging trading performances into the autumn period, with companies expecting good full year results.<br> <br> Barratt said that it had been trading well over the period July to November 2012. It expects to report a "significant" improvement in its profitability for both the half and full year.<br> <br> Taylor Wimpey reported that its order book for future completions totalled £1.11 billion against the £1.02 billion achieved in autumn 2011.<br> <br> Persimmon's visitor levels in the autumn rose 6% against last year and the firm expects its average selling price to climb 5% to around £172,000 for its full year.<br> <br> Redrow's reservations increased 22% over the first 19 weeks of the current financial year, against 2011. Meanwhile, Bovis said it had secured enough reservations to achieve its anticipated full year legal completions. <br>
