Bellway was crowned Large housebuilder of the year at The Housebuilder Awards 2023 last night, as the industry came together to celebrate the best in the UK new homes sector.
The national housebuilder beat other strong contenders to lift the trophy for its performance in four categories, including a win in the Best staff development category for its innovative projects around being an Employer of Choice. It also shared the Best sustainability initiative award with Barratt for its Better with Bellway commitment to sustainability.
Comedian and television presenter Joel Dommett hosted the event at The InterContinental The O2 which was attended by 700 guests.
Thakeham was declared Medium housebuilder of the year. The South-East based company won the coveted Best design for three storeys or fewer award for The Villas on the Green in Pease Pottage, a large four-bedroom property blending Edwardian and Scandinavian influences.
Small housebuilder of the year was Spitfire, who impressed across four categories. The Birmingham based SME was a finalist in the Best refurbishment and Design – three storeys categories for Beaufort, Edgbaston.
