<b>&amp;“Adorable&amp;” Scot, Gerry More, managing director of Cala Homes East, sees design as the key future issue for the industry. And when he is not thinking about that, he dreams of winning the Ryder Cup for Europe - does he not know that you have to be Irish to get that job?</b><br><b>Family?</b><br> Married to Jane, who I met at Aberdeen University in 1981. We have three children, a boy and two girls, ranging in age from six to 11<p></p><p><b>First job ever? </b><br>Thrown onto the streets to do a paper round as soon as I could walk </p><p><b>First job in the industry?</b><br>Labourer on a site at Loch Kishorn near Skye, building oil rigs, and climbed the ladder, if you&amp;’ll pardon the pun, from there. I hope that I can now relate to all levels within the industry, as I&amp;’ve been there and done that, but tend to wear the suit now rather than the t-shirt!</p><p><b>Favourite project and why?</b><br>City Hospital, aka Greenbank Village, in Edinburgh. Huge project of more than 400 homes for Cala. The site is in a great location and has some fabulous Victorian buildings which we have converted into townhouses, along with new build apartments and detached and terraced …
