<p><span>The housing minister Christopher Pincher has revealed the winners of the government’s Home of 2030 competition.</span></p><p><span>Joint winners of the competition are Igloo </span><span>Regeneration</span><span> alongside Useful Projects, Expedition Engineers and Mawson Kerr Architects for +Home, and Openstudio Architects for Connector Housing.</span></p> <p><span>They are from a shortlist of six announced in August, with the judging panel led by Peter Freeman, Homes England’s new chair. A Homes England developer panel will now work with each of the six finalists to develop </span><span>and build </span><span>their designs. There were more than 200 entries, Pincher said.</span></p><p><span>Home of 2030 has looked to the housing industry to design environmentally friendly homes that support people throughout their lives. </span></p><p><span>Applicants had to submit outline designs for homes that are age friendly and inclusive; have a low environmental impact through technology and construction techniques to achieve net zero carbon emissions; promote healthy living with access to green spaces and communal areas; and are deliverable and scalable. </span></p><p><span> </span><span>Igloo’s +Home consists of </span><span>homes with simple frame structures and standardised components delivered within walkable, vibrant neighbourhoods. </span></p><p><span>Meanwhile, Openstudio’s Connector Housing is a flexible and adaptable system for age-friendly, multi-generational housing and neighbourhoods.</span></p> <p><span>Announcing the winners of the competition at the HOMES UK conference, …
