Hill’s 2020 revenue climbs 12%

<p>Hill Group achieved a “record” turnover in 2020 despite the challenges of Covid, with the business on track with its five-year strategy to double turnover and profitability by 2025, it said today (April 20).</p> <p>During the year - which the business said was its<span> most challenging in its more than 20-year history - </span><span>the housebuilder’s revenue rose 12% against 2019 to £651 million. Its pre-tax profit edged up 4% to £44.3 million. The business completed </span><span>1,960 homes, up from</span><strong> </strong><span>1,800 the previous year.</span></p><p></p> <p>Its net cash position was £138 million, up from 2019’s £60.5 million. Hill said that it had no borrowings and £224 million of net assets, up 14%, “putting it in a robust position for further investment in its future development pipeline”. </p> <p>It has a landbank of more than 6,700 homes with pipeline opportunities to deliver a further 9,400.</p> <p>The Essex-based Hill, which builds in the East and South East of England, said that its success was driven by its joint venture partnerships with registered providers, local authorities and other commercial partners.
