Hill to rethink abolition of outline planning consents

Planning minister Keith Hill has agreed to review plans to abolish outline planning consent following intense lobbying from the housebuilding industry. The Planning Bill contains a proposal to replace outline permissions with statements of development principles (SDPs). Both systems were to operate until SDPs were fully phased in.
