Hill picked for South Cambs Council partnership

<p><span>South Cambridgeshire District Council has chosen Hill as an investment partner to support the area’s recovery through regeneration and development.</span><span></span></p> <p><span>The council has selected the housebuilder as well as international infrastructure investor Balfour Beatty Investments to enter into two separate investment partnerships. Under these, the organisations will acquire land for new homes, including council and social rented properties.</span></p> <p><span>Through the partnerships, the council hopes to generate long term income streams. It explained that investment partnerships were part of its plans to mitigate the impact of reduced central funding, with the income generated from investment used to help deliver frontline council services.</span></p> <p><span>The partnership with Hill will deliver a range of high quality, sustainable private and affordable and regeneration schemes, supporting communities and economies and creating investment and income generating opportunities for the council.</span></p> <p><span>These homes will cover a broad range of tenures including private rented sector housing, senior and assisted living and mixed use developments.</span></p> <p><span>The council also said that identifying land opportunities would be a “core element” of the partnerships with target sites situated within South Cambridgeshire “and the wider travel to work area”.</span></p> <p><span>It expects to invest up to £170 million across the two partnerships during the next …
