Hill launches schools site safety campaign

The Hill Group has launched a safety campaign, aimed at primary school children, to raise awareness of the dangers of entering a construction site.

Supported by the Home Builders Federation (HBF) and the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), Hill’s construction site safety initiative is being rolled out to all primary schools nationwide during Child Safety Week (June 3-9).

The campaign centres on an educational video, featuring safety mascots Jack and Jill, who explain to children the rules that must be followed around building sites.

Hill is engaging with primary schools close to its current and forthcoming schemes, with the video available on its website alongside downloadable activity worksheets.

According to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), each year, two or three children die after entering building sites and many more are injured.

Hill launched its campaign at Newport Primary School in Essex, near the housebuilder’s Hollymead Square development where it has collaborated on numerous school community activities.
