Essex based Hill has been crowned Large housebuilder of the year at last night’s Housebuilder Awards in London. The firm was up against stiff competition from the other finalists Avant Homes, McCarthy & Stone and Barratt.
Hill, which has been growing fast in recent years, was praised as being “a good company consistently delivering high quality development” by the judges. The firm also won Best design for three storeys or fewer with Hanover Housing Association for its Woodside Square scheme in Muswell Hill.
Medium housebuilder of the year is Spitfire Bespoke Homes which fought off the Anderson Group and St Modwen Homes. Spitfire also won the Best customer satisfaction initiative award. Joseph Homes won Small housebuilder of the year with Change Real Estate and Lioncourt Homes the other finalists.
Almost 600 guests celebrated at the black tie event hosted by comedian Jimmy Carr in London. Lendlease scooped both Sustainable housebuilder of the year and Best sustainable scheme or initiative for South Gardens at Elephant Park in London.
Best regeneration initiative went to Countryside and L&Q for Acton Gardens in London while there were joint winners of Best refurbishment project – Berkeley for Wellington Row at Wimbledon Hill Park in …
